Does your work-life cause you mental STRESS?

Have you ever felt like your job or work responsibilities are taking a toll on your mental well-being?  

Do you find yourself constantly stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed at work or often feel disconnected despite of spending hours doing the regular work activities.

If it’s a yes, then I’d like to share that at one point in time, I was there myself.  

I struggled with constant anxiety and lack of fulfillment because I couldn’t find joy and meaning in what I was spending 10 plus hours of my day at.

Today, I am taking a dig on the role of the mental health to create a THRIVING professional career and why this MUST be the first thing you need to start working on for your highest success and growth. 

If you know me for a while, then you are aware that I had been treated for anxiety disorder in the past and my conscious work-life choices have made a huge impact on mental health in a positive way.  

So, what I am sharing with you is coming from my very first-hand experience and then obviously thousands of people that I have worked in the last four years. 

 

There are two pieces of this conversation. 

👉 First is, how mental health issues hampers your career growth and second is HOW mental health gets deteriorated due to your working lifestyle. 

Okay, let’s begin with the first pointer, which is relatively easy to understand. 

Having poor mental health can have a significant impact on your career growth. Think about it - if you're constantly stressed, anxious, or burnt out, it's going to be difficult to perform your best at work, take on new challenges, and achieve your goals.  

You’ll have: 

  • Decreased Productivity 

  • Poor Performance 

  • Unhealthy Relationships  

  • Lack of motivation  

  • Stagnation 

 

… all leading to feeling more STUCK, miserable and losing your sense self-worthiness.  

Believe me when I say, 70 out of 100 people who sign up for my free discovery coaching session have the feeling of being lost, stuck, and stagnated in their career.  

Being stuck also suggests the lack of effective decision making, which is again deeply connected with your mindset and your mindset is a part of your mental health too.  

Now, come to the second piece that includes the fundamental REASONS why people have deteriorated mental health due to their work life.  

What I am going to share further is my most important learning and experience of unlocking the secret of ‘a resilient mindset’ leading to a far better mental health and greater success. 

There are fundamentally 3 reasons why work-life impacts your mental health, cause much mental distress, and keep you stuck in the mediocrity to never elevate to the success that you deserve.  

  1.  Lack of Purpose Vision 

  2.  Lack of Self Value Proposition 

  3.  Lack of Self-leadership 

 

Pay attention and use the following insights, please.  

If you have no vision, purpose, and clarity of your BIG PICTURE LIFE, how can you ever know where you are heading to. This big vision is not just about your career, but about your whole life.  

  • Ask yourself “What are the three most important goals of my life and through my daily activity am I going closer to those goals or pushing back”? 

 

If you haven’t figured your “value statement”, you are yet not sure of what exceptional value you bring on the table and why you should be asking for more money and authority to express that competitive advantage.  

  • Ask yourself, “What are your unique strengths and talents through which you solve challenges or problems using your approach and methodology.” 

 

If you haven’t molded your environment, habits, actions, and behavior in alignment with your heart-aligned desires and goals, then you end up self-compromising and risk losing confidence in yourself and your ability to regulate your life. 

  • Ask yourself, “Am I living my life on my core principles, following my intuition, setting tight boundaries (of time, emotions and energy) and persevering for what I truly want”? 

 

Great! Now, you have this blueprint to discover whether you are authentic, aligned and engaged in your daily work life or you are just dragging yourself to finish whatever is required and hoping for a better next day. 

️Sit with these questions and please introspect on them deeply. 

I am aware that nothing can be changed overnight and wherever you are, it’s a great place to make shifts and take charge of your growth, career success and happiness.
